Unisex size is too big Apr 05, 2008 I purchased the EMU boot, but unfortuately, I had to return it. The unisex size was too big and wide. I ordered the correct size, women's size 5, but because its a unisex size, it was too big. Next time, I will search for a women's size 5.
EMU Bronte Hi -- Horrible quality, not worth the 80 dollars Mar 02, 2008 I bought these hoping to spend half the amount that Uggs cost and still have an cute, warm boot that I wouldn't slip and fall over in. They were cute for about a week, then they started to deteriorate. While the traction is good, the inside "Authentic Merino Wool Lining" is worthless, it balls up and falls off in big chunks. The rubber outsoles are already peeling off, and no matter how many times I've tried waterproofing them, they still end up completely soaked all the way through my socks just from walking to class through a little snow.
Now I'm not one to complain about what I buy, but I mean I paid 80 bucks for these boots and they haven't even lasted me half the winter. Also the heels of them are all crushed down in the back, possibly because they are too big. I ordered a size 10 when I normally wear a 10 1/2 or 11, and my feet are still swimming in them making it really hard to walk. I would not recommend them at all, either buy the Uggs, or go somewhere and buy cheaper boots for a much lower price.

EMU Australia Unisex Boot Feb 08, 2008 I love the boots, and the quality is great. I was disappointed that the calf fit was tight. I am a woman and thought by the boot being Unisex that the calf would be more giving. Strong calves from walking make it hard to find good boots that fit the calves.

Heavenly Feb 05, 2008 I love my new boots. They're warm and comfortable, which is pretty much everything you'd ever want in winter boots.
Caution!!!!
1) They really do run large. I wear a 9.5 in ladies, and usually these types of boots urge you to go up a size (in my case, to a 10) to make sure they fit. I ordered the ladies' 9 based on recommendations, and they fit just fine.
2) They are not colorfast! We recently had a pretty good snowfall, and I went outside to shovel the driveway. I left a little trail of red-dyed snow wherever I stepped. I'd assumed they'd been weatherproofed by the manufacturer. You might want to invest in a can of leather protector/sealer suitable for suede and give your new boots a couple of coats.
EMU Bronti Hi Boot Feb 05, 2008 Sizing off, we had to return as the "unisex" sizing was too wide. We returned and ordered a Womens size and it is much much better.
